Course Overview

Course Overview

Drawing engages us directly with our surroundings. As our hand tries to follow our eyes, we aim to construct and contain objects, space, moments. We are left with traces of our experience on the page, a memory of that engagement; human, personal and primal.

Through weekly drawing tasks and demonstrations, with historical and contemporary artist references throughout, students will learn new techniques, skills and processes to engage with the world through drawing. Whether beginner to practicing professional, join us to see how drawing can help you see more and see better.

Artist Geraint Ross Evans has studied at both Swansea College of Art (BA hons 2006-9) and The Royal Drawing School (The Drawing Year 2014-15). He was awarded the Director’s Prize from the Royal Drawing School and The Richard Ford Award from the Royal Academy Fund to study the paintings at the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid.

Geraint’s studio is now based in Cardiff. He continues to work and teach between Cardiff and London as a tutor at the Royal Drawing School, Criw Celf and Llanover Hall. His work is in major collections including the Royal Collection, Dumfries House Estate, Sir Michael Moritz Estate and the National Trust.
