Course Overview

Course Overview
This online course is for adults with an experience of mental health issues. All attendees will need a gmail account to access classrooms. The making of art can be therapeutic, and beneficial for one’s well-being. This group aims to use art as a tool of communication in one way or another. Some may wish to use the art making as a creative method of expressing emotion, and some may wish to take that further and inwardly reflect on what they have created. This course will be experienced differently by each individual. The process of creating artwork in itself is therapeutic. How individual group members choose to interact with that art work is their choice. Rather than being “taught” this group has elements of therapeutic practices and aims to create a supportive space in which group members can express emotions in a non-verbal way. This can encourage self-reflection which group members may talk about within the group, if they wish. Group members should keep all art work created and sign and date them, before keeping them in a safe space. There will be a chance for all group members to review their art work throughout the course. This allows you to see your own personal progress and perhaps gain deeper understanding of you artwork.
