Course Overview
The course explores drawing and sketching. Step-by-step demonstrations are provided throughout for all abilities to follow. This is an exciting and expressive course discovering the wonders of sketching and drawing.

The course explores drawing techniques for charcoal, pencils, colour pencils, conté, pen and inks.

Instruction will be given throughout the Year (Term 1-3) on a variety of themes; perspective, portrait and figures, expressive/abstract sketching, and representational drawing. Exploring various themes such as from the animal world, nature, emotions/senses, landscape, seascapes, people, still life and buildings.

The course will begin with exploring marking making with the humble and magnificent pencil. You will need your sketchbook or cartridge paper, putty rubber/eraser and sharpener.

As the course progresses additional media will be introduced.

You will be sent regular information via a WhatsApp group, for the media and themes, with advice on where to purchase additional materials prior to each project.

Materials
A3 Sketch pad, with good quality cartridge paper at least 130gms.
Graphite Drawing Pencils HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, 7B, 8B.
Conté Sticks or Pencils, Faber Castell have a good selection.
Pencil sharpener
Pasler Eraser Pencils
Hair spray or Fixative
Dip Pen and Indian Ink
Charcoal
Faber Castell Putty Rubber in a case
Pasler Eraser Pencil
Soft Pastels
Colour Pencils
