Course Overview

Course Overview
The course explores watercolour and preliminary drawing skills. Some experience with art making is recommended however, step-by-step demonstrations are provided throughout for all abilities to follow. An exciting and expressive course discovering the wonders of watercolour.

Tuition will include wet-in-wet washes, flat washes, dry brush, pen and inks, wax resist, applying salt, masking fluid and white gouache.

Instruction will be given on perspective and expressive / representational art-making. Exploring various themes from the animal world, nature, landscape, seascapes, people, still life and buildings.

The course will begin with watercolour techniques. As the course progresses additional media will be introduced so art materials can be built up over time.

You will be sent regular information via the group's 'WhatsApp Group' which you will be able to join on the first day of term for the media and themes, with advice on where to purchase additional materials prior to each project.

Projects will begin with drawing practice and exploring techniques to prepare you for the art making. Followed by full demonstrations for each stage making the artwork.

Projects are spread over 1-3 weeks to give you plenty of time to complete each artwork.
