Course Overview

Course Overview
This is an Intermediate course for those with a reasonable grounding in French . You may have a rusty GCSE or O level French, you have been following a French class for at least 3 years or you have been working on your own using online material and now wish to practise what you have learned in a group situation. The course is designed within the level A2+ of the European Framework. The class starts with some general conversation about your news. You will be able to converse in the past tense as well as the present. We will recap the future tense so you will also talk about any future plans. The second part of the lesson is based around Access French 2. I have secondhand copies for £5. We will begin with introductions, descriptions, talking about your home, social life, origins and regions. We will learn about different Francophone countries as well as cultural aspects of France.

We will develop your listening and speaking skills. You will read authentic material to expand your vocabulary, comprehension and reading skills. The emphasis is on oral communication, however we will complete some written grammar exercises to help with accuracy. The emphasis is on practising your French in a supportive, friendly and relaxed environment. By the end of the course, you will be able to get by in practical situations in France. Whether you are learning for interest, to keep your brain active, you are planning a visit to France or a French speaking country or you have just returned and want to expand your knowledge, this is the course for you.
