This is a Lower Intermediate course for those with a reasonable grounding in French . You may have a rusty GCSE or O level French, you have been following a French class for at least 2 years or you have been working on your own using online material and now wish to practise what you have learned in a group situation. The course is designed within the level A2 of the European Framework.
The class starts with some general conversation and revision. The second part of the lesson is based around units 9-14 of Façon de Parler 1 covering the topics of accommodation, weather and seasons, daily routine and travel. We will develop your listening and speaking skills. You will read authentic material to expand your vocabulary, comprehension and reading skills. The emphasis is on oral communication, however we will complete some written grammar exercises to help with accuracy. We will recap the perfect ( past) and future tenses and introduce the imperfect used for descriptions in the past.
The emphasis is on practising your French in a supportive, friendly and relaxed environment. By the end of the course, you will be able to get by in practical situations in France. Whether you are learning for interest, to keep your brain active or you are planning a visit to France or a French speaking country, this is the course for you. There is the opportunity to participate in the Cardiff Nantes Exchange.
