Course Overview

• Learn the skills needed to cut, join and shape silver, brass and copper.

• Create unique items of jewellery and discover techniques including stone setting and enamelling.

• These classes are suitable for beginners and for those who want to explore and develop new ideas.

• Teach learners the skills needed to cut, join and shape silver to make items of jewellery and to extend learners' experience of a range of techniques to enrich their creative & technical skills.

• This course is for people who want to learn how to make jewellery out of silver and other metals.

• There are no specific requirements for joining.

Additional Costs

• A one-off payment of £5.00 is taken by the tutor from each learner at the beginning of the course to cover expenses such as gas and solder.

•The first project costs £1.50.

•All learners can buy a starter pack of silver from the centre at a cost of £7.50 to £20.00.

•Clothes suitable for a workshop environment.

What should I bring to the first lesson?

• Pen, pencil and paper.

Eligibility:

Those who are not currently in education, training or employment and are in receipt of state benefits or support (excluding state retirement pension). those aged 50 plus who are not in full-time employment.
