Course Overview

Open to all levels, this class offers the opportunity to draw each week working from observation. You will experiment with different approaches to drawing incorporating and exploring your use of materials to develop your observation drawing skills. The course will focus on a study of line, tone, shape, shade, texture and scale. Each week you will work with a new drawing scenario with subjects such as still life, objects, natural forms and interior spaces.

What should I bring to the first lesson?

One box of willow charcoal, a range of drawing pencils and an eraser for the first session. A1 and A2 white cartridge paper will be available to purchase from the centre. If you are wanting to use a sketchbook please bring size A2 or A3 at least.

Eligibility:

Those who are not currently in education, training or employment and are in receipt of state benefits or support (excluding state retirement pension). those aged 50 plus who are not in full-time employment.
