Course Overview

This course is not suitable for beginners.

Improve your garment making and increase your confidence to expand your level of skills, techniques and projects ie. self lined bodices, coat and jacket construction, lined garments, bound buttonholes, jetted pockets and evening wear.

Requirements to join:
You are able to thread and use your sewing machine confidently. You can read and understand basic comercial patterns and produce seams and seam finishings to suit your chosen garment. You can work independently after being given guidence by your tutor.

All fabrics and notions needed for your project will need to be bought.

What should I bring to the first lesson?

Sewing machines are available to use at Llanover Hall but you can bring your own if you prefer.
Patterns and fabrics that are needed for your chosen project. Ceri will email you before the course begins to discuss any questions you may have.

Eligibility:

Those who are not currently in education, training or employment and are in receipt of state benefits or support (excluding state retirement pension). those aged 50 plus who are not in full-time employment.
