Course Overview

During Term 1 (10 weeks) September - December 2024 you will learn how to:
Make a beautiful Clematis Taiga and Periwinkle floral arrangement for decorating a festive cake.
Create a quirky fun Halloween cake topper figurine; Make a Helibore flower; Fun Christmas cake topper figurines; Decorating a beautiful Christmas cake; Wafer paper Christmas decorations.
You will need to purchase equipment and ingredients through this course to complete the topics. Each week I will tell you what you will need for the following week. I will post the full terms topics and equipment needed in the classroom at the start of term, so that you will know what to buy.

What should I bring to the first lesson?

Equipment for week 1
Apron, tea towel, Thin rolling pin/ cell stick; Flower grove board; Foam Clematis blossom and leave cutter & veiner; Daisy cutter (or a star cutter 2cm); Periwinkle cutter; Dresden instrument; Cutting wheal; scissors; Metal ball; Wire cutter scissors or pliers; Florist wires white #20’; #24; #26’ #28; florist Nail tape-green;
Lilac dust colour; Corn starch for dusting your board; Trex; Sponge for drying petals; Box for transporting your petals. Petal paste/Gumpaste (I use Saracino Pasta Bouquet, but you can use paste of your choice).

Eligibility:

Those who are not currently in education, training or employment and are in receipt of state benefits or support (excluding state retirement pension). those aged 50 plus who are not in full-time employment.
