Course Overview
During Term 2 (10 weeks) January - April 2025 you will learn how to:
Work with Wafer paper - Decorating a cake with Wafer paper; Making a butterfly and a spring blossoms out of wafer paper;
Make a beautiful Stargaser lily for decorating cakes – work with Flower paste
Little girl cake topper – work with modelling paste;
Mother’s day theme cake;
Spring / Easter / Woodland theme cake
You will need to purchase equipment and ingredients through this course to complete the topics. Each week I will tell you what you will need for the following week. I will post the full terms topics and equipment needed in the classroom at the start of term, so that you will know what to buy.

What should I bring to the first lesson?

What should I bring to the first lesson?
Apron; Table protecting cover/silicon mat; Wafer paper; Cocoa butter (NOT Coconut butter);
Small scissors; 2Painting flat brushes; 1 thin brush; Pale pink dust colour; Blue colour; lilac and range of dust pastel colours (to paint a butterfly); Cake box or other box for transporting your decorations or cakes

Apron, tea towel, Thin rolling pin/ cell stick; Flower grove board; Dresden instrument; Cutting wheal; scissors; Metal ball; Wire cutter scissors or pliers; Florist wires white #20’; #24; #26’ #28; florist Nail tape-green & white; Flower /Gum paste (Saracino Pasta Bouquet); Modelling paste (Saracino white & skin colours); Wafer paper – no more than 10 sheets; Cocoa butter
Colours – gel – green; pink; brown; red; yellow;
Dust colours – pink – few shades; light blue / lilac; green (leaf; moss; forest); yellow; red; orange
Corn starch for dusting your board; Trex; Sponge for drying petals & figures;
Box for transporting your petals.
Petal paste/Gumpaste (I use Saracino Pasta Bouquet, as it is damp resistant, but you can use paste of your choice).
