Course Overview

During Term 2 (10 weeks) January - April 2025 you will learn how to:
Working with wafer paper and creating Wafer paper decorations;
Painting on plaque – you will learn techniques which you can apply on both your cakes and biscuits;
Mother’s day cake;
Make figures for decorating cakes; Easter decorations for cakes.
You will need to purchase equipment and ingredients through this course to complete the topics. Each week I will tell you what you will need for the following week. I will post the full terms topics and equipment needed in the classroom at the start of term, so that you will know what to buy.

What should I bring to the first lesson?

Apron, tea towel, Sugarcraft small rolling pin and sugarcraft grooving board for rolling paste on;
Sugarcraft modelling tools; Small scissors; Craft knife
Sugar paste; Modelling paste – white; Flower/gum paste; Wafer paper; Cocoa butter (NOT Coconut butter)
Painting brushes – thin; flat; Dust colours (pastel hint colours) – green; pink; pale yellow, blue
Cake box or other box for transporting your decorations or cakes.

Eligibility:

Those who are not currently in education, training or employment and are in receipt of state benefits or support (excluding state retirement pension). those aged 50 plus who are not in full-time employment.
