Course Overview

Open to all levels, this class offers the opportunity to draw from observation.
Working on one study in pencil for the session, you will practice measuring and how to understand scale. This will lead us to develop a focus on light, shade and shadow and how to incorporate these qualities into your drawing. Subject matter will include everyday objects and natural forms.

What should I bring to the first lesson?

Students should bring with them: a range of drawing pencils which include different grades, an eraser and sharpener. White cartridge paper will be available at the centre, if you wish to bring a sketchbook or your own paper please bring A3 or larger.

Eligibility:

Those who are not currently in education, training or employment and are in receipt of state benefits or support (excluding state retirement pension). those aged 50 plus who are not in full-time employment.
