This is a level 2 Agored Cymru Accredited course
• You will learn how Learning Support Assistants work in schools: the variety of tasks they
perform, the educational theory behind the role, and the important part they play in liaising
with professional colleagues and parents / guardians.
• The course includes an introduction to the topic of behaviour management.
• You will find out about the skills and personal qualities needed for the job, with the
opportunity to consider how your existing skills could be developed in order to fulfil this
role, and how you could build on your experience.
• You will learn about the legal requirements of Learning Support work, including Equal
Opportunities and Health and Safety legislation. Finally, the course looks at how to apply
for jobs and prepare for interviews.
• No prior knowledge or qualifications are needed.
