Course Overview
This course would be useful for anyone who is interested in working in schools, whether mainstream or specialist, and also anyone who is interested in support work with adults.
We will discuss the meaning of the term ‘Autism Spectrum’. We will look at the strengths of autistic people, the challenges they face, and a range of support strategies.
We will discuss how to support people in a ‘person-centred’ way, being respectful of people’s rights, needs and different communication styles.

Those who are not currently in education, training or employment and are in receipt of state benefits or support (excluding state retirement pension). those aged 50 plus who are not in full-time employment.
