Course Overview
Unlock your creativity and explore the joy of abstract art with the Penelope Rose Creative Flow Workshop. Designed to encourage freedom, self-direction, and awareness, this course will guide you in creating unique, expressive artworks from a non-objective starting point.
This workshop embraces the principles of Creative Flow, helping you tap into your inner nature and natural abilities. Learn to find form in chaos, simplicity in complexity, and balance through compositional techniques, all while discovering new possibilities in your artistic practice.
During this session, you’ll explore:
• Abstract Portrait Compositions: Combining portraiture concepts with abstract expression.
• Cantilever/Asymmetrical Balance: Creating tension through off-balance compositions.
• Constellation Designs: Arranging colours, lines, and forms to create open, playful structures.
• Cruciform Abstract Composition: Using intersecting lines and shapes to create cross-like structures.
• Diagonal Compositions: Adding energy and movement through angled designs.
• Flowing Curves & Spirals: Designing dynamic, organic shapes.
• Horizontal & Vertical Compositions: Playing with structure and orientation.
• Meandering Elements: Joining broken-up components to animate surfaces.
• Overlapping Forms: Experimenting with layers of squares, lines, or other shapes.
• Spiritual Abstract Compositions: Using colours and symbolism to convey transcendental themes.
• Tension in Abstract Art: Balancing opposing elements for dramatic effect.
• The Golden Section: Exploring the harmony of mathematical proportions.
By the end of the session, you’ll gain the confidence to explore abstract art further, combining techniques and ideas to create pieces that are both personal and visually compelling.
