Course Overview
At this (10 weeks) class September – December 2026 you will learn how to bake and decorate cakes, cupcakes & biscuits.
This class is perfect for complete beginners, people who want to learn the ABC in baking and cake decorating – no previous experience needed!
You will learn how to bake some of the most popular traditional cakes – Vanilla; Chocolate; Red velvet; Carrot cake, different flavours of cupcakes and biscuits and how to decorate them suitable for different occasions – Birthdays, Christmas etc.
You will learn how to make different frostings and pipe on cakes and cupcakes, how to cover a cake with buttercream, ganache and fondant.
Additional Costs
You will need to purchase equipment and ingredients through this course to complete the topics. Each week your teacher will tell you what you will need for the following week. The tutor will post the full terms topics and equipment needed in the classroom at the start of term, so that you will know what to buy.

Vanilla cupcakes
Equipment for week 1
Apron, tea towel, small pallet knife/spatula for spreading the buttercream on the cupcakes; Disposable piping bags; Star piping tips 1M & 2D
Kitchen weighing scale; 12 nest muffin tin; Muffin paper capsules; Bowl to mix the batter; bowl to mix the buttercream ; Ice cream scoop –big (optional). Sieve
Electric mixer; Scissors;
Mixing spoon; small teasp; Silicon spatula for mixing & whisk;
Box to transport your muffins; small Tupperware to transport left overs (from eggs or cream etc.)
Sprinklers (optional)

Ingredients:
300g Butter (not salted)
150g caster sugar
350g Icing sugar (sifted)
2tsp. Vanilla essence
3 eggs
150g self-raising flour
8tsp of milk
