“Painting with Light: The Art of the Magic Lantern glass slide & pictorial painting.”
The first week Barry will show the variety and inventiveness of glass painting techniques. Including different methods such as dissolving images or light to dark, sgraffito on glass, (scratching through one layer of paint.) Creating atmospheric silhouettes and glass painting special effects such as vapour and movement. We will include both Victorian techniques and contemporary glass painting with the opportunity to show your slides projected to a live audience towards the end of the term.
